moon harbour are delighted to welcome a huge summer signing for their next ep: foremost uk producer huxley turns out three club rocking tunes that all make the big impressions he is known for.
over the last decade, huxley has produced a number of huge hits that fuse myriad four four styles into exciting and arresting new forms. his diverse lp from 2014 showed off a range of styles from peak time to downtempo to jungle and came on aus, while other labels like hypercolour have also showcased his ever subtly evolving style. here he is in fine form once more.

next up for les yeux orange is a collaboration between earth trax, also known for his productions as the phantom & one half of ptaki, and newborn jr. individually or together, the polish winning duo is on hell of a hotstreak lately with some remarkable works for rhythm section, echovolt or phonica and connoisseur mixes for thump or stamp the wax. they debut on lyo with a diverse selection of four dreamy, melodic and emotional tracks both suitable for the club or for a domestic listening.

two of the best tracks off the brasileira lp get an updated dancefloor treatment by selvagem, carrot green and joakim. those who experienced listening to the original maria rita version of cantico brasileiro nº3 (kamaiura) on the dancefloor know it s such a thrilling experience that could only be better if the song was a bit longer. at the same time, it didnt make much sense to mess with the original. having these thoughts on their minds, the selvagem boys augusto olivani and millos kaiser (the minds behind selva discos) had an insight while discussing the reissue of the brasileira material with singer maria rita stumpf: why not hit the studio and remake the track? also, why not ask someone like joakim, known for his exquisite taste and brilliant production skills, to remix lamento africano/rictus? it would be the perfect package.

despite his low profile, ken karter might be one of berlin s most influential artists in the techno scene. karter is known as a mastering engineer for the seminal m_rec ltd, however his own productions have gone largely unnoticed until his 2015 ep on stroboscopic artefact’s monad series. his ep turned heads and gained him well-deserved attention. two years later, his follow-up ep on escapism exemplifies his focus on quality over quantity. his passion for mathematical formulas combined with his intricate knowledge of sound created an outstanding record set to satisfy both fans of experimental and dancefloor techno.

artificial dance is a new record label from amsterdam. this is the imprint’s debut release. it is the first ever release from young dutch dj/producer job sifre, previously best known for his fortnightly antikunst show on esteemed amsterdam institution red light radio.
worries offers an extended glimpse at sifre’s unique musical vision. it is one that draws heavily on vintage electronic music for inspiration, but also feels fresh and futurist in tone. in turns dark, industrial, hypnotic and mind-altering, the six-track ep bristles with impactful moments of magic.

juris boiko (1954-2002) and hardijs ledinš (1955-2004) were the core members of the nsrd, which is best known as latvian avant-garde, postmodern, experimental and underground music group active in 1980s.
their activities were widely multidisciplinary and they can not be considered as purely musicians since none of them had a professional musical education. their creativity was manifested through variety of media – music, performance and action art, visual arts, poetry, samizdat, the introduction video art in latvia etc. nsrd also made a significant contribution to the explanation of the theoretical aspects of art in the interpretation of the postmodernist movement, and developed the independent concept of “approximate art”. at the end of the 80s, nsrd got connected and performed with several artists and musicians living in west germany, including indulis bilz&#275,,,,,ns, micky remann and maximilian lenz aka westbam and others.

giant records 10th release is from new york born adam collins and limited to 150 hand stamped and numbered copies. adam is widely known for his work as one half of production duo omni am, along with marky star and counts derrick carter and evil eddie richards and a whole host of others, amongst their fans. adam’s release for giant is titled - day2day and has all the trademark’s of adam’s wonky, left of field, slightly off kilter grooves - day2day builds and snakes itself into a bottom bass heavy house jam - chicago style keys mould the snare and hats into an infectious work out - with an alien like hook that keeps it all slightly wobbly. the next cut is from the super talented carl finlow under carl’s random factor guise, a beauty in its own right ! super tight drums and a punchy random factor bassline take’s this mix on a journey through many shades of electronica - as the track swells nicely with warm atmospheric pads and sprinkles of emotive keys, with an electro style hook that keep’s it all swinging in carl’s trademark sound. the next mix is from la based producer mieka du franx. mieka’s mix strips the original down to the bare essentials and gives it a tuff minimal feel. the last mix is from echo of glory, which see’s echo take the track on a acid tinged work out - adding dubbed out vocals and super subbed out bass.

for their 12th label anniversary, jazz & milk have decided to launch a new series called “twelve inch jams” in order to celebrate vinyl culture and the legendary 12&#8243,,, format! jams002 sounds the bell for the second round of the series including a 10 years re-issue of the classic sam irl cut “you don’t feel enough”. originally released as a b1 tune on his “african dance ep” debut on pulver records in 2007, this jazzy house gem found its way into the record bags of many influential djs over the years. from session victim, glenn astro, max graef to hodini… the record never disappeared in club sets but certainly from discogs a good while ago. so it was about time to give the tune a second life and finally press it on the format it deserves - a whole 12&#8243,,, side. the german production duo session victim are well-known fans of the track describing it as their secret weapon playing it in quite many dj sets for years, including their 2015 appearance for mixmag’s dj lab. hence, it is a great pleasure that session victim contributed a remix to the new release. their absolutely elegant and groove-driven version with a charming 90’s touch to it makes a brillant counterpart to the original with its jazzy piano-, drum- and double bass samples leading to an epic synth break that regularly causes ecstatic moments on the dancefloor.

mind records is a finnish record label and a record store in finland owned by marko laine (also known of his works on djax-up-beats, drop bass network and planet rhythm). now after 18 years since last release there’s a new 12” offering some serious dark, hypnotic minimal techno by a new finnish talent j. lyden.

obscurum is a two man outfit based in fuerth, germany. formed by roland l. and d. blaze, who have collaborated musically together since 1995. they also own the following labels: e-com, exalt and seico corp. known for their preference for minimal detroit techno music, they command international credibility. dark electronics and pumpin techno with an industrial tinge. several releases on e-com/exalt/seico corp. unite their typical style of production which puts the mechanical part of their music in the front row. functionality without any compromise.

next up on bucharest’s raw tools label is börft co-founder, johan sturesson, also known to be part of the swedish electronic trio, frak. the four-track ep consists in music from the private vaults of the producer, that has been kept secret for almost 20 years. rough and gritty, his analogue approach and stripped down sound define the record. starting with the rave sounding “uncle owl” and then moving to a more darkly atmospheric title track, kord shows his muscles on the flipside with some more techno infused and bass driven dancefloor cuts.
always under the radar, johan has been operating raw electronics since the late 80’s, developing his distinctive sound. as kord, he has released on several swedish labels, including his own imprint. together with jan svensson and björn isgren as frak, they have released music on labels such as kontra musik, lux rec and midlight records.

one of detroit’s best kept secrets, rick wade has been producing late night tracks and tapping into the essence of deepness since the 90’s. known for their universal appeal and appearing on over 20 different labels worldwide, soulful, timeless grooves are his signature. growing up in buchanan mi, 1 hour outside of chicago he was influenced by chicago radio station wbmx and the salsoul material and local stations that played the likes of al green and isaac hayes. in 1993 rick and dan bell started harmonie park to release house material and in 1995 rick started another label bass force primarily as an outlet for the booty / bass material that he records under the big daddy rick moniker. this time rick brings us “the depth charge ep”, three tracks of lavish organic deepness, with jazzy rhodes-chords, strings, trumpets, warm lush big sounding pads, combined with soulful vocal samples and crisp beats. london’s westlake72 contributes with a stunning remix of “be there”, injecting a fierce disco groove and vibe.

this autumn, wah wah 45s are very proud to present their latest signing, an outfit who ve garnered huge praise from jools holland, are darlings of the guardian s music reviews pages, and have set festivals alight up and down the country with their unique melange of sounds. for a good few years, honeyfeet has been a conduit for the ideas and expressions of an exotic mixture of manchester based musicians. jazz? yes, some of that! folk? stick that in there! hip-hop? i thought you d never ask! someone once called it folk-hop and barrelhouse-pop, and that s just vague enough to make sense. it helps that they are fronted by ríoghnach connolly, real world s newest signing and -a remarkable singer and flautist who can ease from irish traditional influences to soul- (the guardian). this extraordinary band s debut single for wah wah 45s, sinner, was originally affectionately known as boingy squelch, after the unconventional sounds trombonist biff roxby used in his early demos. ríoghnach conveys the story of a woman who never intends on staying at home -chained to the sink- - -i may be a sinner, but i m not a slave-. in that way, the song is a rejection of outdated, traditional roles. since their previous album, 2013 s it s a good job i love you, keyboardist john ellis jumped on board as full-time member, bringing his unique musical presence. this enabled the development of a more texturally adventurous style, as witnessed with the dual atonal solo between himself and guitarist ellis davies on sinner. similarly, for their next lp, orange whip, engineer, bassist and spiritual guide lorien edwards makes his honeyfeet recording debut, so completing the -kitchen- of this very special band. sinner is released on limited 7- vinyl (100 copies only!) on october 20th and comes complete with a woozy, low slung club-friendly mix from former innocent sorcerer, polish dj and producer envee. the album, orange whip, will be released on wah wah 45s in the summer of 2018.

leroy burgess - one of the pioneers of boogie, a legendary figure in the nyc disco scene and all-out originator is well known by dance music aficionados across the globe for his output. his logg project from the early 80’s especially has acquired a cult status amongst diggers, released on salsoul in 1981 and boasting mixes from larry levan the lp became an instant club classic that still commands the dancefloor in 2017. salsoul is a label that isn’t afraid to bridge the gap between their hugely groundbreaking catalogue and contemporary dance music. they understand the impact and influence their music has had on dj culture and embrace it wholly. step up uk underground producer marquis hawkes who originally approached salsoul with this set of killer reworkings that had long been private versions that featured in his sets. having dropped ep’s for labels such as dixon avenue basement jams, aus music, houndstooth and many more his name is firmly planted in the minds of record fiends across the nation. adopting a classic us style of production, using analog gear, dope loops and chops and finessing it all with his own grittiness, hawkes seemed a good fit to remix 2 stellar joints from logg s catalogue. something else and i know you will both get cut up, re-edited and laced with rock solid drum programming by hawkes on this sublime 12’’. lovingly tweaked with just the right amount of rawness for the dance this one won t leave your bag anytime soon! pure peak-time sounds here, another example of salsoul embracing the sounds of now and breathing freshness into their untouchable catalogue. essential.

kalita records release their first in a series of coveted reissues, starting with the three choice cuts from nst cophie s 1980 private press ivory coast afro-disco album mon da center. after moving to paris in 1976 and having played with other well-known bands such as n bamina, osibisa, and with numerous artists including jimmy hyacinthe and papa wemba, mon da center was ernest s first solo album. recorded at studio caroline in paris s 20th sector over the space of one week, this self-funded ultra-rare album regularly exchanges hands for eye-watering prices. pretty much unknown except to the most hardened of diggers, bian kou , e clolo and mioukouna are guaranteed to set any dance floor alight, with hypnotic afro-disco grooves, killer drums and angelic female vocals.

jules elipse (elipse music) is known for his eclectic output - here he tackles the jungle genre with characteristic aplomb! featuring three ragga-infused cuts of authentic 94/95 style jungle at or around the 160bpm mark, with hyper-syncopated drums, ragga chants and a devilishly dark mood prevailing over the tracks - 7th storey projects presents the dogheart ep.

dub-stuy welcomes up and coming producer blind prophet for a conscious dub release in collaboration with russia’s tenor youthman and italy’s numa crew. long island, new york s blind prophet makes his debut on dub-stuy records alongside the vocal talents of tenor youthman , one of the founders of russia’s lion posse sound system. ‘ marijuana burns capitalism ’ is a deep and meditative social statement sure to move the dance and stimulate the heads. on ‘marijuana burns capitalism’, blind prophet lays down a solid riddim, with a deep driving bassline and a bubbly harpsichord skank, for tenor youthman to sing about the liberating properties of hemp in fighting the evils of mass production and capitalism. the result is a simple and effective cut backed by a sparse dub that lets the drums and bass roll out to full effect. the flip side sees florence’s numa crew deliver their own fire for the dance with another straight to the chest dub version that focuses on the bassline and tenor’s unique vocal style. a 12” for the massive that continues the uplifting sound system music dub-stuy is known for.

you see, vin and hny have history and to make this marriage official we needed it to be just right. big daddy vincente might be known around the world for his sure-fire dance-floor bombs, but not as commonly known for his queer ally reputation in san francisco. using his production prowess and dj knowledge to help bring up the bay area gay dance scene has built him a fanbase of all walks of life. we think this might be his most accomplished musical work to date, not just because it is for our label, but because it s a labor of love. the ep reads like a metaphor for the two sides of the city where it was made. moonchild and electrical storms reminisce the mystical and spiritual love affair san francisco has had since the 60s while patronize and bondage taped reference the sexually adventurous side the city indoctrinates to all its visitors. this record feels big to us and mostly because it reps our home and a hometown hero so hard. enjoy.

the artist known as g-23 continues his journey to the head of the gum under the schooldesk underground with this release on torn hawks valcrond video. this multi-faceted italian producer also deploys weirdo sounds under the name secret rave and strange audio dreams, often on his own label art-aud. he has also released under the alias moscow death disco on helena hauff s return to disorder. remixes of access code from valcrond affiliates decor and mr. husk start off each side. both will pound and smear club meat all over the countertop. lets pound those veal cutlets so thin you ll be able to see through them like flesh-pink stained glass. a2 brings us the sleazy slouch of bleep shots. it sure sounds like a crew of developmentally impaired bullies out to steal your lunch money, so hold on to your fanny pack. finally, the title track closes things out in a brilliantly uncomfortable way. ars trip is a headache you d pay to have.

this is the kind of house music that disco built! bons records is back with an ep full of soul. in the ninth release, the catalan label is nourished by four first-rate artists in an album full of disco and funk samples. slide a is for not me, a young catalan producer who performs a club version of one of the all-time essential soul records. on the other hand, madrid-based javi frías has made another of his sought after trips through disco music. on the b-side, dj bruce lee, one of the best and most active selectors in town, presents a dj-tool of house music with samples of a very well-known disco track. do you know which one it is? doc l junior, artist of label rosters as sex tags mania or music for freaks, presents a classic house track with 80 s feel to close a round ep.

the latest installment on roam recordings features nozz aka damon jee aka jérôme da silva. most known as damon jee for his widely acclaimed remixes, jérôme has been branching out with outstanding originals under his nozz alias. in his misfits ep for roam nozz delivers two excellent new productions. the title track is a cool rock infused guitar laden stunner with class and attitude while hippy home is a dreamer of a tune perfect for greeting the sun or losing yourself in a closed eyed dance session. the misfits ep comes with two top remixes from the emperor machine and autarkic. the first remix is a tour de force performance with a sound that is unmistakably the emperor machine – intricate, dubbed out, lasers, and superb production. autarkic s version of hippy home adds an eclectic edge to the ep with a cacophony of orchestral and quirky sounds that somehow perfectly keep in line with the stripped down feel of this remix. the misfits ep brings together three artists at the top of their game and is a fine addition to the ever growing roam recordings catalog.

elegant divide are peter oldroyd and samantha gare, based in london uk. formed in 2014 elegant divide combines the talents of classically trained vocalist samantha gare and electronic pop music pioneer peter oldroyd. peter is a well-known mix engineer and record producer, and best known for his 1980 s experimental synth pop band camera obscura. samantha, trained at the italia conti academy of theatre arts, has experienced chart success before and lends her distinctive voice to the project. elegant divide expresses the dichotomy of dark and light in electronic music with songs that explore lyrically the emotions of urban living. with the use of vintage synthesisers (moog prodidy / source, novation bass station, nord lead 2, paia fatman, polyfusion modular, yamaha dx7) and drum machines (roland tr-909 / tr-808 / tr-707 / tr-505, yamaha rx17) their sound is rich and analogue, and samantha s cool vocal delivery creates a mood that is simultaneously accessible pop and dark and haunting.

welcome to the next vinyl record on kickmasomaass records and we are back with next edition of hardgroove planet the second one. the only one real hardgroove techno sound on this planet released on vinyl! all others are only cheese! as always we bringing you also this time four tracks from creme de la creme of hardgroove techno producers. the first one chewy martins has delivered us track called dark shadows and i think that this one is one of his best tracks he has made. excellent dark synths with hard tribal beat and heavy kicks. a dream of every hardgroove fan and one must have for every hardgroove party. second track is from well known andy bsk called machine. this very poor producer from slovakia has finally delivered us one real hardgroove track that has a potential to destroy every club. his beat and sound is so catchy that every hardgroove fan will love this track. the next track on hardgroove planet 2 is from dj gumja called noelom. this slovenian dj and producer has delivered us a track with real hardgroove heart. great tribal beat filled up with a catchy vocal. great work from him! the last track and a grand finale for our hardgroove planet 2 is a track called moon from recycle bot. all fans who is know this producer knows that he is more hardtechno or techno producer as hardgroove but his track moon has something from hardgroove sound too and thats why we have added this track to our compilation. great hard beat with tribal percussions, dark synths and heavy kicks. so thats all for now. hope you all will love this new vinyl record and if you want to show some love then spread a word to your friends about this new release. thanks for all support. enjoy!

chicago’s carington pierre, also known as lanzo, has bestowed evidence of his cosmic hip hop beatology to the cold busted label in the form of a new album, omnipotent. previously recording for blvnt records and the natural selection label, lanzo specializes in a style of experimental hip hop that draws from boom-bap, soulful downtempo, and atmospheres that lean toward the celestial. lanzo and his trusty mpc 1000 have been actively producing since 2008 and omnipotent confrms his upward trajectory, presenting ffteen tasty sonic morsels that groove in a confdent but abstract fashion. highlights include “comfort zone” which envelopes a swinging rhythm in dreamy strings, distant voices, and rolling bass, and the odd but appealing “gutter balls”, featuring some deliciously drunken synths. there’s also the melancholy quiet storm of “colours”, “against the wall” and its heavily processed beat magic, and the loping sci-f jazz of “between friends”. omnipotent is a heady listen, displaying textures and swirls that accentuate the sturdiness of its drum beats. lanzo has provided a distinctive soundtrack that’s ready-made for day blazing or night groovin’.
